“Flowers are notorious for brightening up a space and a face.”
FNQ Blooms is a 52-acre tropical flower farm located at the foothills of Mount Bartle Frere, Queensland’s tallest mountain. The property sits beside the lush rainforest of Wooroonooran National Park, surrounded by some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Far North Queensland.
The farm was purchased in 2011, several years after Cyclone Larry devastated much of the region. What was once a heavily overgrown and neglected property slowly came back to life through years of clearing, planting, and rebuilding.
Heliconias were the first flowers planted on the farm, and today FNQ Blooms grows a wide range of tropical flowers that are supplied to florists and markets across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
Over time the property has grown to include several hectares of tropical flowers and specialty crops such as vanilla bean vines, which thrive in the warm rainforest climate.
A Rainforest Stay on the Farm
In 2019, the property welcomed its first guests with the opening of our private Airbnb accommodation, now known as Tropical Flower Lodge.
Located within the peaceful surroundings of the farm, the lodge offers guests a quiet rainforest retreat just minutes from Josephine Falls and some of the region’s most beautiful natural attractions.
Guests enjoy:
• Peaceful rural surroundings
• Beautiful rainforest views
• Easy access to Josephine Falls
• A unique stay on a working tropical flower farm
Visiting FNQ Blooms
FNQ Blooms is located approximately 1 hour south of Cairns Airport.
Flowers are harvested, washed, and packed on the farm twice a week before being shipped to markets and florists across Australia.
