About the Stay

Enjoy private camping at FNQ Blooms, a tropical flower farm surrounded by rainforest, creeks and waterfalls. Campers can explore the crystal-clear creek, relax in nature and experience a peaceful farm stay in one of the most beautiful parts of Far North Queensland.

FNQ Blooms is a 52-acre tropical flower farm located at the foothills of Queensland’s tallest mountain, Mount Bartle Frere. The property grows a wide variety of tropical heliconia, ginger and vanilla for the Australian cut flower market.

Camping Options

Site 1 – Grassed Area

A large, open grassed camping area beside the creek.

  • Suitable for caravans and camper trailers
  • Can host up to four groups at a time
  • Great for relaxed creek-side camping

Site 2 – Rooftop/Caravan  Area

A smaller off-grid campsite suited to a quiet tropical escape.

  • Rooftops and small caravan’s
  • Available during the dry season
  • Ideal for a quieter camping experience

Site 3 – Camp Cassowary

A peaceful and secluded campsite tucked amongst flowering Alpinia gingers, with direct access to Connoughton Creek. Relax beside the flowing water, explore the creek or enjoy the abundant tropical birdlife.

  • Sleeps up to four guests
  • Suitable for rooftop tents, camper trailers and small caravans
  • Vehicles and rigs must be under nine metres
  • Grass or paddock surface that may require levelling
  • Four-wheel drive required
  • Campfires and friendly pets permitted

Site 4 – Rainforest Camp

A private hilltop clearing surrounded by lush rainforest and tropical palms. A short walk leads to Connoughton Creek, while suitable weather and creek conditions may allow rooftop tent campers to access a secluded creek-side platform.

  • Sleeps up to 2 groups possibly 3 depending on set up
  • Suitable for rooftop tents and camper trailers
  • Vehicles and rigs must be under ten metres
  • Rigs must not be wider than the four-wheel drive towing them
  • Four-wheel drive required to cross the small creek bridge
  • Caravans, motorhomes and generators are not permitted
  • Campfires and friendly pets permitted

What Campers Need to Know

  • Camping facilities vary between sites
  • Some campsites require a four-wheel drive for access
  • Campers must bring their own toilet and take all waste with them
  • There is no potable water, power, Wi-Fi or shower facilities
  • Friendly pets are welcome but must get along with other dogs
  • Campfires are permitted in the provided firepits when conditions allow
